Description
Summary:The purpose of this paper is to compare the performances in terms of reflection coefficient (S11) and adaptation of the dipole antenna in I and L topology at the S band frequency for CubeSat applications. This antenna can transmit at a frequency of 3 GHz and fulfills a set of features according to the required specifications including image downloading. The proposed antenna has a simple, lightweight design, low manufacturing cost and is very compact, it is designed using an FR-4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4 and a thickness of 1.6 (mm) and fed by a coaxial line which has an impedance of 50. The results showed that the proposed antenna of topology L gives better results compared to the one with topology I in terms of reflection coefficient and bandwidth, these are respectively (-25 dB, 32,3dB) and (1.67 GHz, 1GHz).
