Description
Summary:Evaporation duct is a type of atmospheric duct that frequently occurs in the marine. It manifests inhomogeneity in time and space. Due to the limitations of sea, it is hard to accurately measure evaporation duct over large regions of the sea. ERA5 reanalysis data can provide the global atmospheric environment data. In this study, ERA5 data is used to obtain the meteorological parameters of the South China Sea. And then, the distributions of the evaporation duct height in different time are calculated based on the ERA5 data by utilizing the NPS (Naval-Postgraduate-School) model. The inhomogeneities are of the evaporation duct in the South China Sea is analyzed.
