Summary: | The design of a pulse septum-magnet, containing a laminated C-shaped iron core and single-turn excitation coil with frontal conductor electrically connected on the iron core, is presented. The magnet is installed in the vacuum box with a residual pressure up to 2.7*10/sup -7/ Pa and has indirect natural coil cooling. Investigations on a full-scale model of the septum-magnet carried out on a vacuum testbed have confirmed the feasibility of the required vacuum in the septum-magnet boxes of the emergency beam extraction system of the UNK first stage.< > |
