Description
Summary:In this paper, the problem of frequency control in a dielectric resonant device by inserting a nonhomogeneous resonator with controlled parameters. This insert distorts electromagnetic field inside the dielectric resonator. Modifying the insert properties controls resonant performance of the whole system. Existing methods of the DR resonant frequency mechanical tuning are characterised by low operating range, while known electronic methods of adjustment considerably compromise the Q-factor. In this work a new method of the DR resonant frequency control is proposed using composite resonant designs: a resonant system is built on two dielectrics or uses a dielectric with metallic mirror. The suggested designs were analysed theoretically to calculate their principal parameters and choose the best components and materials. Electrodynamic calculations have been verified by experiments.
