Summary:With respect to a lumped-element hybrid circuit called rat-race in a microwave frequency band, the procedure for deriving a simplified rat-race, its circuit structure and trial circuit on a printed circuit board are presented. The frequency characteristics of the experimental circuit are shown to be in good agreement with theoretical characteristics.
