Summary: | A simple, robust 3-D stochastic image-based indoor channel (SIBIC) model is presented as an alternative to a statistical or a deterministic model for a rectangular room environment. This model is based on an image model; however, it treats the virtual point sources in the image model as clusters. The simulation results show this model introduces physically meaningful spreading in the mean excess delay and root-mean-squared delay spread. An application of the model is the generation of realistic array data for 3-D sensor array algorithm development where realistic spreading and angular dependencies are required. |
