Filamentation of 1064 nm femtosecond laser pulses propagating in air

We report a filament generated by 1064 nm, 2 mJ-level femtosecond laser pulses propagating in air. A 2.8 m-long filament was observed using femtosecond laser pulses from a multiterawatt laser system based on optical parametric chirped pulse amplification.
