Summary:This paper presents the results of the study of PV system operation in the severe Gobi desert natural environment to verify the output simulation technique for very large scale photovoltaic systems (VLS-PV) and to confirm the efficiency of using large scaled PV system to be in Gobi desert area, and also to clarify specific requirement for the VLS-PV system design. The study is carried out within framework of the cooperation between National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science & Technology (AIST), Tokyo University of Agriculture & Technology (TUAT) and National University of Mongolia (NUM).
