Selection-free WDM DFB lasers for high power applications

A selection-free DFB structure is proposed for the fabrication of high power CW single mode lasers. The spectral uniformity is experimentally demonstrated on 2" wafer for tapered-DFB lasers having a maximum output power higher than 85 mW at 25/spl deg/C.
