Summary:We introduce novel scalable wavelength-converting crossbar switches based on two-dimensional compact integration of quantum well waveguide modulators and surface-normal photodiodes. We demonstrate electrically-reconfigurable 2/spl times/2 arrays that perform unconstrained wavelength conversion in the entire 1530-1565 nm band.
