Summary: | Changes in electron density in the middle-latitude D-region of the ionosphere have been experimentally investigated during distant launches of different types of rockets. Short-term pulsing disturbances of the electron density in the lower ionosphere have been discovered. To explain these effects, the hypothesis has been suggested for conditioned pulsing electron streams arriving into the lower ionosphere from the magnetosphere and having the energies of /spl sim/10/sup 2/-10 keV and stream densities of p /spl sim/10/sup 8/-10/sup 9/ m/sup -2/s/sup -1/. |
