Summary: | We present a method based on the matching pursuits algorithm for the extraction of time-frequency features that can be used for classification of various abnormal heartbeats. Further, we investigate the usefulness of independent component analysis for extracting additional spatial features from multichannel electrocardiographic recordings. The performance of these two different sets of features is assessed using the 48 recordings of the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. |
