Summary: | We propose a framework for adaptive channel aware scheduling mechanisms for optimal power and rate adaptive (OPRA) multi-carrier spread-spectrum (MC-SS) systems that offers IP flexibility and maximizes the multiplexing efficiency of the system. In particular, we introduce a novel dynamic subcarrier allocation (DSA) scheme which is based on the derivation of the theoretical capacity of OPRA MC-SS systems with maximal ratio combining (MRC) and an imperfect channel estimate. We then compare three priority based scheduling mechanisms in terms of their multiplexing capability while using our DSA scheme. Based on these results, we finally introduce an adaptive scheduling algorithm. |
