Summary: | This paper used OPNET to simulate a video streaming service on a test IP network and an MPLS network with traffic shaping that used the CQ/spl I.bar/LLQ algorithm, had an LSP of fixed bandwidth, and a policy of user limitation. It measured parameters such as delay, throughput, and packet loss. To verify the performance of the video streaming service in the IP network and MPLS network, two scenario that have the same topology and traffic source are used. One is a simulation for best-effort service in a pure IP network. The other is a simulation for QoS-enabled service in an MPLS network. Based on simulation results, the MPLS network with CQ/spl I.bar/LLQ algorithm and fixed LSP shows an advantage in the video streaming service QoS, especially delay and packet loss. |
