Summary: | The Geant4 simulation toolkit provides an ample set of complementary and alternative physics models for both electromagnetic and hadronic processes, describing the interaction of particles with matter. We present a short overview of the actual state of the physics models provided by Geant4 and the results of a series of detailed tests for the quantitative validation of the electromagnetic processes. The Geant4-based test results are compared to protocol references commonly adopted in the medical physics domain (NIST and ICRU). |
