Summary: | Two types of applicators using microstrip for microwave hyperthermia are proposed. One is a microstrip patch applicator using a dielectric substrate made of silicone rubber with flowing water. The other is a microstrip array applicator using flowing water substrate. The applicators are flexible and can avoid the surface overheat of the heating medium. Heating experiments at 430 MHz show that the applicator can be in good contact with the uneven surface of the body and can heat relatively wide and deep portions inside simulated human muscle.< > |
