Description
Summary:Publish/subscribe infrastructures have in the recent years gained significant traction with several specifications such as the Java Message Service, WS-Eventing and WS-Notification trying to capture the essence of publish/subscribe systems and enabling the development of interoperable systems. In this paper we present a scheme for the discovery of topics in distributed publish/subscribe systems. The scheme outlined in this paper addresses security related issues such as authorization and provenance in the discovery of the aforementioned topics. We have also included results from our implementation of this scheme to demonstrate the feasibility of this mechanism. The work that we describe here can be used in systems based on JMS, WS-Eventing or WS-Notification.
