Impact of intrachannel crosstalk on the performance of direct-detection DPSK optical systems

A method to assess the impact of intrachannel crosstalk on the performance of preamplified DPSK systems is presented. The 6 dB crosstalk tolerance relatively to OOK systems verified experimentally by Xiang Liu was analytically confirmed.
