Ultrabroadband spectral transfer in extended focal zones: truncated few-cycle Bessel-Gauss beams

By self-apodized truncation of few-cycle pulsed Bessel-Gauss beams, focal zones of decimeter decay lengths were shaped. Both, theoretical and experimental results indicate more robust spatio-spectral characteristics at ultrabroad bandwidths compared to Gaussian beam foci.
