Description
Summary:The stability region of a hydraulic turbine and the associated governor control is investigated based on a proven model for the case of a single hydraulic unit connected to an equivalent system. The analysis begins with the use of a very simple system. Additional factors are added in turn to illustrate the effects of each, until finally the complete model is in use. In addition to the establishment of stability boundaries, practical operating boundaries are also determined. In fact, these operating boundaries are a natural output of the method used to find the stability boundaries.
