Description
Summary:The trend in today's modern communication satellites is driving into the direction of spot beam technologies. This allows the illumination of distinct areas of the earth surface. These areas can be close to each other in which case frequency re-use through space division multiplexing (SDM) paired with orthogonal polarization is applied, to reach beam separation. Areas can also be geographically separated in order to serve different continents. In any case, to ensure the quality of service (QoS), monitoring systems should be located in the coverage area of the beams to measure continuously the signal quality. This paper introduces a software architecture for a testbed to be used in a network of interconnected, fixed and mobile wireless monitoring systems using distributed multi-agent systems
