Summary: | The paper presents the development of a computer-aided image registration tool (CAIMT) for system set-up verification in radiation treatment planning. Image registration was achieved by application of generalized Hough transform (GHT) to match the detected skull contours in portal film and simulation film. The CAIMT has been applied to register the image pairs of a rando phantom and real subjects. The promising results suggest the CAIMT can assist radiotherapists to make precise registrations for the simulation film and the portal film and therefore determine an optimal radiation beam positioning in a more efficient way |
