Summary: | A new design concept was presented for reconfigurable FSS that uses silicon as switches. Signals at frequencies around/above 100 GHz (D-band) are of interest for several applications including atmospheric sensing, wideband communications, automotive radar and test instrumentation. This paper presented two RFSS examples, one design with metallic patches and one with all dielectric materials at a target frequency of 100 GHz. The designs proposed in this paper are readily fabricated and can be easily scaled to lower or higher frequencies |
