Summary: | The authors focus on the interworking problem between Common Channel Signaling System No. 7 (CCS7) TUP (telephone user part) and non-CCS7 signaling systems. A novel functional testing approach to verify proper interworking of CCS7 TUP and other non-CCS7 signaling systems in a switching system is presented. Basically, the problem of signaling interworking on a telephone switch is abstracted into functional categories. These categories are used to derive the tests that are crucial in assuring the correctness of signaling interworking in a switching system. It was found that the complex task of testing signaling interworking for a switching system becomes much easier to handle through such a functional testing approach.< > |
