Summary: | A systematic methodology for designing transistor microwave oscillators with both series and parallel resonant configurations is described. The procedure allows the reference planes of the active device to be adjusted so that there is considerable flexibility in accommodating a chosen circuit configuration while satisfying the oscillation conditions. Experimental results of 2.0 GHz oscillator circuits using this approach are presented. The circuits realized produce the desired output power and oscillate very near the targeted frequency. Therefore, it can be concluded that the measurement results substantially support the design procedure used, thus attesting to its effectiveness.< > |
