The relationship between microstructure and magnetic properties in L1/sub 0/ ordered Fe-Pd ferromagnets

Summary: | Electron microscopy has been used to study the microstructural basis for enhanced coercivities in thermomechanically processed FePd ferromagnets exhibiting a fine recrystallized grain structure. The increase in magnetic hardness is attributed to a change in the domain processes which control magnetization reversal compared to those operating in the well-known polytwinned microstructures characteristic of these alloys.< > |
