Description
Summary:MIL-HDBK-335, Management and Design Guidance, Electromagnetic Radiation Hardness for Air Launched Ordnance Systems, has been revised and updated to address the hardening of command, control, and communication (C/sup 3/), electronic warfare (EW), and Precision Guided Munitions (PGM) systems against the general EME which includes HPRF, EMP, and lightning as well as the more traditional 200 V/m RF fields. This revision stresses the planning, staffing, budgeting, and scheduling steps which the System Program Office (SPO) should take through all life cycle phases to assure that the final system operates reliably in its fielded environment. Proposed MIL-HDBK-335A, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Program Manager's Guide, is primarily aimed at managers responsible for the design, development and acquisition of mission critical electromagnetically dependent equipment, subsystems, and systems. It provides the guidance necessary to establish an effective program for hardening these systems against the natural and manmade electromagnetic environment.< >
