Summary: | In data measurement, symbols are used to capture information using an identification channel. Signal engineering design techniques involve descriptive languages, symbolic codes, shift keyed symbols and symbolic addition. These signal engineering techniques are used to design a new set of compact, powerful Pseudo Random Binary Sequence (PRBS) test signals for impulse testing, and narrowband or wideband multifrequency testing. Phase shift keyed symbols are used to design band limited PRBS using a 7 bit maximum length (M) and its corresponding antisymmetric (N) PRBS. Symbolic addition and the M PRBS are used in a new wideband design forming a Pseudo Random Ternary Sequence (PRTS). The bandwidth of these narrowband and wideband PRBS signals may be adjusted with the aid of a range factor.< > |
