Summary: | The authors present simple formulations for optimizing the efficiency and output power of a rectenna using experimental data that characterize a rectenna element. The method is applied to a uniformly tapered transmitter aperture and a 2.45 GHz rectenna element. The analysis presented here examines the relationship between collection efficiency and rectenna efficiency. The problem is to find, for a given transmitter aperture taper, how much power has to be transmitted to maximize the rectenna efficiency or the rectenna output power. This analysis takes into account the variation of incident power density on the rectenna with experimental efficiency data of a rectenna element.< > |
