Summary: | In this paper we propose a method of the theoretic estimation of the bit error rate (BER) for coded systems with square quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) constellation in memoryless flat fading channel with perfect channel state information (CSI) and maximum likelihood estimation of transmitted data. The specific case of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel is considered separately. The proposed method is based on the approximation of log likelihood ratio (LLR) and the model of equivalent communication channel with coded binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signal and memoryless flat fading. Systems with 1/2 convolutional code (K= 7), 16-QAM and 64-QAM signals are simulated and simulation results are compared with proposed theoretic estimation. |
