Description
Summary:This letter describes the basic instrumentation system designed for use at the North American ground stations which have been installed for the International Magnetospheric Study. The system is comprised of a triaxial fluxgate magnetometer, a microprocessor-based controller, and a Synchronous Meteorological Satellite, Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (SMS/GOES) satellite telemetry link. The network is in operation and preliminary surveys indicate about a 90-percent data recovery rate.
