Summary: | Predictive universal layered sensor exploitation network (PULSENettrade) is a large Northrop Grumman Internal Research and Development (IRAD) effort. PULSENettrade is a solution designed to solve a number of complex and cumbersome sensor asset problems. PULSENet addresses these core problems and others by integrating disparate sensors and sensor data into a service-oriented architecture (SOA) based on open geospatial consortium (OGCreg) sensor Web enablement (SWE) Web services. PULSENet allows the DoD and intelligence community to take the large and increasing inventory of sensor assets available to our warfighters and analysts and turn them into a coordinated, persistent surveillance system-of-systems. SensorML and the SWE framework also support semantic Web technologies. The PULSENettrade architecture describes sensors and their data in common, XML-based formats: sensor model language (SensorML) for sensor description and observations and measurements (O&M) for sensor data. PULSENet combines these standard services and formats for sensor data with existing OGC Web services for map data to provide end-users with improved sensor data fusion, data mapping, and data mining capabilities and an enhanced common operating picture (COP) for multiple target detection and tracking |
