Reducing the effects of the finite absorption of the optical medium on the performance of the intensity-type refractometric transducer

We investigate experimentally the effects of absorption of the optical medium on the performance of the fiber-optical refractometric transducer. We show that the finite absorption of the optical medium that is being measured results in errors in the determination of the refractive index. We propose...

Description
Summary:We investigate experimentally the effects of absorption of the optical medium on the performance of the fiber-optical refractometric transducer. We show that the finite absorption of the optical medium that is being measured results in errors in the determination of the refractive index. We propose a new measurement method that permits to reduce these errors.
