Summary: | As both timing acquisition and channel estimation pose major challenges in ultra-wideband (UWB) communications, non-coherent UWB radios that bypass both of these challenging tasks offer interesting alternatives to explore. Transmitted reference (TR) signaling, in combination with an autocorrelation receiver(AcR), allows a lower design complexity compared to Rake reception. In this paper, the bit error rate (BER) performance of differential TR-UWB receivers conditioned on a channel realization is analyzed. The average BER is verified through simulation for different signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values. |
