Summary:This paper focuses to better understand detector properties observed in experiment using a comprehensive Monte-Carlo simulation package. The simulation packages used in this study include Maxwell for modeling the signal induction process and the drifting of charge carriers in the electric field. Another package used is Geant4 for modeling the physics of gamma-ray interactions within the detector. A 1.5 times 1.5 times 1.0 cm 3 CdZnTe gamma-ray detector was studied in detail, which employed a generation 3 coplanar grid anode design. Simulation results are compared to the experimental data, and the results are reported.
