Description
Summary:Long-term continuous electrographic recordings from animal models of acquired epilepsy may provide insights into the mechanisms underlying this important neurological disorder. The present studies report the use of radiotelemetry to record electrical activity from the hippocampus and cortex nearly continuously for months. This approach, combined with algorithms for semi-automated detection of spikes and seizures, should promote development of new therapies aimed at blocking seizures and the progression of epilepsy.
