Summary: | Single phase to ground fault in a neutral insulated or compensated power networks is difficult to be detected. In order to synthetically employing multiple available fault information, a D-S evidence theory based fault detecting fusion method is investigated for neutral compensated power networks. Three kinds of fault information as transient, abrupt wave and real power are employed for the purpose. Concept of fault measure is introduced to satisfy fusion description. And the corresponding fault measure algorithms for the three kind of fault information are constructed. Employing the investigated scenario, a fault detecting device was developed with virtual instrument. The device was tested in a power distribution network and has operated in field. Testing and operating results proved the presented scenario. By properly employing the multifold fault information, the detecting scenario is reliable and adaptive. |
