Carrier-Grade Ethernet for Core Networks

This paper considers the functionality and standards required to enable carrier-grade core networks based on Ethernet-over-WDM. Possible Ethernet backbone network architectures will be discussed followed by an evaluation of the CAPEX and OPEX performance.
