Summary: | Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) errors have been considered as a killer issue for the multihop wireless sensor network (WSN) localization. Although there are some techniques that can be used to mitigate this kind of errors, they are not quite suitable for sensor networks because of the intensive computation, big amount of communication or the demand for prior information on LOS-NLOS channel conditions. In this paper, we propose a novel Lower-Computational-Cost Residual weighting algorithm (LCC-Rwgh), which can mitigate the NLOS errors when the range measurements contaminated by NLOS errors are not identifiable and reduce the amount of communication. The algorithm is compared with three other generic algorithms. The computational complexity of the algorithms is compared analytically and the performance of the algorithms is test by simulation under various scenarios and NLOS error models. The new algorithm has shown the improvement of location accuracy when the number of NLOS errors is small and the lower computational cost than the conventional residual weighting algorithm. |
