Description
Summary:Grid configurations are becoming ordinary environments found in many organizations to target requirements of high performance computing. On the other hand, mobile devices are interesting equipment to provide to users access to a large number of computational resources found in grid environments in anytime and anywhere. However, previous approaches of interaction between mobile device and grid do not have a more automated way for submission, monitoring and resources selection for execution of several tasks of a process that works together to solve a single problem. Therefore, we present a framework proposal that addresses these problems. The framework employs a resource matching based on ontology for selecting several resources and workflow concept to provide a controlled and more automated way for tasks submission and monitoring. We implement a prototype to test our goal. Our case study have demonstrated that the framework has selected more suitable resources for processes, executing it from the mobile devices to a grid configuration. Furthermore, mobile users were able to follow step by step how it was the progress of their submissions and to obtain detailed information of each workflow task.
