Summary: | We demonstrate a new way to design ultra-compact RF sensors by the combination of photonic crystals (PhCs), spiral antennas, and Schottky diode mixers. PhCs offer the opportunity to construct ultra-small integrated circuits in the optical wavelength of electromagnetic spectrum. In this talk, we experimentally demonstrate hybrid lattice PhC channelizers in the RF regime which can function as a compact correlator if it is combined with mixers. Using this correlator and spiral anteenas, we design an ultrosmall size sensor which has the ability of both detecting and processing signals. |
