Summary:In this paper, we present a neural network based decision support system for diagnosis of Esophagitis. It is a condition of inflammation of the esophagus. The condition is detected by inserting an endoscope in the upper gastro-intestinal tract. The upper GI tract covers the esophagus, stomach and the duodenum. The endoscopist observes the area and captures images of the parts which aid diagnosis of a condition. The images are analyzed by the endoscopist and based on the experience and the knowledge of the endoscopist, the condition is diagnosed. We have designed a neural network based decision support system which aids this process. Erosive and non-erosive Esophagitis are considered.
