Carbon nanotube based photocathode for microwave devices

We have demonstrated for the first time a beam modulation at 1.5 GHz (Teo, et. al., 2005). However, the use of resonant cavities leads to narrow bandwidth operation. To overcome this limitation we propose an optical control of the electron beam modulation thanks to a novel photocathode, which integr...

Description
Summary:We have demonstrated for the first time a beam modulation at 1.5 GHz (Teo, et. al., 2005). However, the use of resonant cavities leads to narrow bandwidth operation. To overcome this limitation we propose an optical control of the electron beam modulation thanks to a novel photocathode, which integrates CNTs with photodiodes.
