Summary:The behavior of brushless DC motor with its drive and converter is described and highlights the requirements for accurate simulation at full-load operation. Results obtained with two commercial software packages are presented. Tricks for models developed with both softwares are provided in order to obtain good results. The simulation results are compared with measurements at no-load and full-load operations made on a prototype.
