Low-cost L-band Raman amplifier for CWDM systems

A low-cost Raman amplifier for CWDM systems and a model suitable for its design is presented. An amplifier offering 9 dB over 60 nm is obtained using only three low-power (< 200mW) semiconductor lasers.
