Description
Summary:Regional development comprises a complex process. Therefore, its modelling requires application of appropriate tools. The tools have to be able to cope with diversity of issues including intangibility of utilised resources and obtained results, uncertainty with regard to available information, conflicts between different stakeholders etc. An approach for decision support with regard to sustainable development strategy components evaluation is introduced in the paper. It comprises combination of 3 components, namely: multi-criterion decision analysis, simulation and a concept of a game against nature. Each of the components makes it possible to address devoted sources of complexity. Due to computational requirements practical validation and utilisation of the approach is only possible using its software implementation. The implementation is still in development now. But preliminary results obtained for a sample problem of key development areas identification are encouraging.
