Summary:A single-feed microstrip patch antenna has been organised in a sequential array and has been shown to have much improved axial-ratio bandwidth and gain. The sequential array was able to produce a 28% axial-ratio bandwidth with a maximum gain of 10 dBi. The single-feed microstrip patch antenna has also allowed the construction of a simple feed network for the array. A prototype of the sequential array antenna has been measured and the results are presented.
