Summary: | In this paper, theoretical analysis on the efficiency of using periodic waveguiding structures in mid-infrared spectral range (MIR) is reported. The structures are fabricated in bulk of highly nonlinear glass by the femtosecond (fs) pulse processing. This research covers the following: calculation of guided modes and defect modes in the periodic structures; identification of the structures with desirable functionality; analysis of the dynamics of non-linear modes upon the structure excitation by CW radiation; and numerical modelling of the ultra-short pulse propagation in the structures. |
