Description
Summary:The performance and accuracy of a stereotactic gamma imaging and localization system has been verified and the results of the verification are presented. The system is intended for use in localizing suspected breast cancer lesions occult to other imaging modalities. It consists of a small field-of-view gamma camera, a pair of slant-hole collimators, and a grid localization system. Tests with point sources have demonstrated that the system performs as expected and can be used to accurately determine the three dimension location of point sources. Tests with point sources have also been conducted to determine the accuracy of the slant-hole collimator system and the functionality of the software used to determine the location. The results of these tests are presented.
