Field Trial of Polarization-Assisted Optical Performance Monitoring Operating in an 820 km WDM System

We report a comprehensive optical performance monitoring field trial. A low-cost monitoring solution operates in an 820-km installed WDM transmission link at nine link points. The monitoring includes power, wavelength, SOP, OSNR, and first-order PMD.
